Environmental Degradation: A major underlying message in this film is that if Environmental Degradation continues to take place at the same rate as in the present, many negative things may happen. In the status quo, society holds environmental degradation as a necessary evil needed to advance society, and is generally not regarded as a major issue. This film, by showing the feeble, unappealing condition humanity has put itself in, shows that environmental degradation is a major issue which may throw humanity into the shackles of corporation and mundane existence.
Today, we can learn from the existentialism shown in WALL-E by reflecting on how we life our current lives and if we are satisfied by it or not. Many things which swamp the minds teenagers these days are the need to get good GPA's, excel in multiple extra-curricular activities all to ultimately attend a top-tier university. Most of us blindly follow what society dictates us to do, rather than reflecting on the purpose of all of the madness. We can learn from WALL-E that to reach a goal, there are multiple paths available to reach it.
